Two double-deckers from a Hong Kong bus company collided in Diamond Hill on Friday afternoon, injuring at least 16 people. The crash between the Kowloon Motor Bus vehicles happened in Hammer Hill Road, bound for Kwun Tong, near the Chi Lin Nunnery shortly after 2.30pm, according to police.

“Initial information showed 15 passengers were slightly injured in the incident,” a spokeswoman said. She added that one of the bus drivers was trapped but was freed by firemen shortly before 3pm. The injured were taken in a conscious state to United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong for treatment. Officers from the Kowloon East traffic unit are investigating the cause of the accident. The collision led to a closure of a section of Hammer Hill Road, causing traffic to be congested, according to the Transport Department.
