Canadian popstar Justin Bieber has announced a Hong Kong date for the Asian leg of his world tour.

The 23-year-old singer-songwriter will be performing at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Lantau Island at the end of September, which should make his local fans very happy. Tickets are yet to go on sale, but a listing on

. Bieber catapulted to fame 10 years ago when his Youtube videos were discovered by R&B star Usher. His early single, Baby (you know, the one that goes “baby, baby, baby, ooh” ad nauseam) was certified platinum not once or twice, but twelve times by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Following multiple controversies (the DUI, the video of him using racist slurs… we could go on) in 2014, the Biebs’ fourth album Purpose explored the theme of apologies (at least, that’s what we’re getting from the track Sorry) and the downside to growing up in the public eye. 

Recently, the Biebs has kept a relatively low profile, with his most newsworthy moment in recent months being a drunken mangling of Luis Fonsi’s Spanish song Despacito.
