No. 1 Louisa Mak takes home both Miss Hong Kong crown and Miss Photogenic award

The "Miss Hong Kong 2015 Pageant" was held last night. No. 1 Louisa Mak, who was a "10 A" honours student in the HKCEE exams in 2009, took home the crown as the favourite all along. She also won "Miss Photogenic" to become a "double-win" champion. Her "rival", No. 4 "Arrogant" Ada Pong, was runner-up, while No. 9 "CityU Karman" Karman Kwok unexpectedly won second-runner up.

This year's Miss Hong Kong Pageant finale was held at TVB City in Tseung Kwan O last night. After a series of talent performances, swimsuit and night gown catwalks, and other rounds from the 12 contestants, in the end, No. 1 Louisa Mak lived up to expectations and won first place. At the same time, she also won the recognition from the "Miss Photogenic" judge panel Simon Yam, Wayne Lai, Edmond Leung and William So, winning the award to become a "double win" champion. In total, she won 925,173 points. After the show, she expressed her feelings on her win: "I've been thinking about this day for a long time, really nervous. When I hugged my mom, I cried. (Which part of your face is photogenic?) I don't think I'm photogenic! When I was young, I didn't care about my looks! I was like a unpolished jade!" Her "destined rival" Ada Pong and unexpected winner Karman Kwok took home second and third place. Ada Pong stated: "The process was so fast! Now I miss it!" Karman Kwok: "I feel like I'm dreaming!"

In last night's talent performance, Louisa Mak performed contemporary dance. However, when she did a kick move, she showed bikini line hair and her bra pad was showing, such a mistake! However, her dance movements were decent and exhibited her flexibility when doing a back flip, winning a lot of points back. As for second place, Ada Pong, she was asked who should be the endorsor for prepaid cards, she replied: "I think it should be this year's Miss Hong Kong, which is me!" However, in the end, her wish did not come true.

New format this year

This year's competition format is new; contestants were eliminated every round, so those who entered the Top 4 indeed overcame many difficulties to reach the end! First of all, not even 15 minutes after the show started, two contestants were eliminated to create a Top 10. Then, after the talent performance and swimsuit round, No.6 Hayton Wu and No. 7 Sylvia Wu were eliminated. The rest of the 8 contestants then did a group song-dance performance before the final elimination. No. 3 Ann Lo, No. 5 Iris Lam, No. 11 Amanda Yeung and No. 12 Sunshine Chu were announced out!

After the Top 4 was finalized, each contestant was given 1 minute and 30 seconds to speak and campaign for votes. The results were up to 50% public voting and 50% judge panel; in the end, there were a total of 231,692 votes from the audience. A total of 30+ artistes such as Pakho Chau, Jinny Ng, Chin Ka Lok, Wong Cho Lam, Bob Lam made up the "Star Judge Panel". After the show, Simon Yam praised the champion, Louisa Mak, for winning the crown deservingly, saying her performance was very sweet and was in good form. He even revealed that when he entered the venue, he kept raising the #1 sign to show his support.

Louisa Mak looks pretty, especially with her smiling eyes. She looks a lot like Vivien Yeo and some Aimee Chan.

No surprised, she was the heavy favorite. It's been like that for a couple of years. Makes you think, is that a fair competition.

Well deserved, she was the most outstanding of all this year. The show was really boring though, really cheap looking made this year.
