Synopsis

Due to a heartrending vow, YUEN KAM-CHEONG (Bobby Au Yeung), an Inspector of the Criminal Intelligence Bureau, has mistakenly killed his girlfriend YEUNG TSIK-SUET (Esther Kwan). Being so grief-stricken, KAM-CHEONG has an out-of-body experience, travelling back in time to the Song Dynasty. Having attached his soul to BAO ZHENG (Bobby Au Yeung), the magistrate of Song's capital Kaifeng, he is shocked to see HON SEUNG-SEUNG (Esther Kwan), who looks just like TSIK-SUET, right in front of his eyes. According to BAO ZHENG's investigation, SEUNG-SEUNG was actually a princess, but was instead framed by a villain, KO KAI-ON (Ben Wong). Shedding his tears, BAO ZHENG is forced to execute SEUNG-SEUNG, triggering his soul to once again float out of his body to the 1950s, when he becomes an all-powerful inspector WAH LUNG-BIU (Bobby Au Yeung). As predestined, he believes he will re-encounter TSIK-SUET, yet TIN TSAU-FUNG (Esther Kwan), who is standing in front of him, does not recall him at all. On the contrary, she thinks he is the one who killed her husband. In order to change his fate, LUNG-BIU continuously verifies the truth. Unexpectedly, he learns that a dancer, LAM YIM-FONG (Rebecca Zhu) and her boyfriend YUEN KWAI (Pierre Ngo), are his biological parents. Moreover, TIN TSAU-FUNG's younger sister TIN TSAU-NGAN (Mandy Wong) turns out to be manipulating the whole plot. Tragedy recurs when LUNG-BIU accidentally kills TSAU-FUNG again. With KAM-CHEONG's soul returning to the modern era, he is determined to ferret out the one who has cast the spell on him in the cycle of reincarnation so as to protect TSIK-SUET as well as to escape from the curse. However, to his surprise, it is him initiating all these tragedies......

Love this series, especially Bobby and Esher Kwan makes this a big plus! I like how they make it having a modern feel to it by bringing Bobby's character back in time.

time really flies, Esther Kwan look old and no longer pretty as last time she acted in TVB drama with Bobby.

Pierre Ngo should gain weight a bit as he look thin and if he has more muscle then is charm be a policeman in the drama.

i only just recently finished watching this series. It was quite good! you don't get such good acting like the greats of Esther and Bobby no more. I wish TVB did more dramas like this again.

Lately it has been kinda not so good.

i'm at the middle. ummm, the Kaifeng times was boring. If in true I love the pairs in this series, but thye toooo much boring talking.

Now there 2nd part of show 50s and first ep of it look like more dynamik. Hope show will be more interesting from this part.

don't know why tvb always so boring. They have good actors and pretty good stories and ideas. (but they show it too childish and naive)

This series was pretty good ... the original English transliteration of the Chinese title was even more meaningful (Love Reverses Three Lifetime of Fate)... first time seeing both Rebecca Zhu (Chu) and Mandy Wong shine as crucial supporting casts. Both Ram Tsang and Benjamin Yuen played their characters pretty well ... as always, Vincent Chan portrayed his villainous role pretty good ... first time watching both Derek Kwok and Mandy Wong cast as manipulative, scheming, cold-blooded, and heartless villains, especially Mandy still want to kill Esther Kwan many years later close to the ending of the drama ... I deeply hated the characters of both Derek and Mandy in this series ... the romance between Pierre Ngo and Rebecca Zhu (Chu) was interesting and enjoyable to watch, especially when Rebecca was finally reunited with Pierre and he passed away when she put her hand around his shoulder. I had to give Rebecca Zhu (Chu) credit for her natural crying abilities ... she really had potential to develop her talents in acting career further down the road. Good luck Rebecca! :)
